Cycling to work
Latest
Log your progress with the Lewes Cycle Challenge.
Cycling short distances, particularly at peak times, can often be faster then driving a car or catching a bus and you have the benefit of getting fitter and saving money while you do it.
If there are no showers at work, cycle at moderate speed and change into a fresh shirt or top when you get there - cycling needn't make you really hot.
You could also:
- Encourage your employer to provide secure cycle parking, lockers and showers, if they don't already do so.
- Encourage your employer to join the Cycle to Work scheme. You can find more information about this scheme to provide tax free bicycles on the Department for Transport website
