Cycle Lewes: promoting cycling for all in and around Lewes

South Street 'no cycling' sign

General rejoicing! The 'no cycling' sign at the start of the riverside path between the Snowdrop and Cliffe Industrial Estate has finally been taken down, years after the path itself was upgraded as a cycle route, part of Sustrans Route 90 through Lewes. Many thanks to Robin Reed at ESCC and Tim Bartlett of LDC for taking a personal interest in sorting out this irritating anomaly!

Cycle Lewes map

As part of its ‘Think Air’ air quality initiative, Lewes District Council has published our new map showing routes preferred by local cyclists in Lewes and the surrounding area. It was researched and written by Tim and Anne Locke, with input on off-road routes from Stephen Burgess, and designed by Lewes graphic artist Andy Gammon. Pick up a copy free from the Tourist Information Centre and Lewes District Council offices.

New website and logo

David Harvey has very kindly designed and set up this website for Cycle Lewes. The logo and extract from the Cycle Lewes map are included with kind permission from Andy Gammon Art and Design. Please contact us if you would like to get in touch with them and find out more about their work.
