Green United Sponsored Bike Ride

Green United are holding their annual 9-mile sponsored bike ride on Sunday, 20th July, in collaboration with Cycle Lewes and Dr Bike Lewes, to raise funds for Love Our Ouse – a local group working to reconnect people with the River Ouse in all its forms, from stream to sea. This year’s sponsorship will support ongoing efforts to monitor nitrate and phosphate levels in the river, as well as a series of public events throughout the year.

Cycle Lewes film night at The Depot

To help kick-start the transport season ‘In a Jam’ at the Lewes Climate Hub (Wed 11 June – Sat 21 June), Cycle Lewes and The Depot have arranged a special screening of the film ‘Motherload’ on Friday 13 June from 6pm. In this documentary, filmmaker Liz Canning captures a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of modern life, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote. After the film there will be a question and answers session led by Lewes’ own champion of electric cargo bikes, Matthew Bird (of Get Bikery) along with some other users of these fun and super-capable two-wheeled machines.
